What is the difference between VPS Hosting and Bitcoin Dedicated Server?

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting is a hosting where a single server’s virtual systems are shared with many users. This kind of hosting is usually done for sites and websites that harbor quite good traffic. On the other hand, a Dedicated Server is that kind of hosting where the entire server’s system and resources are shared. For example, Bitcoin Dedicated servers are servers that entirely work for Bitcoin processes and allow you to get the maximum speed and performance in Bitcoin transactions.

Now that a brief idea of what VPS and Dedicated Server are exactly, let’s head to what distinguishes them.

1. Access capacity

In a Dedicated Server, you get full control and access over the resources and systems such a Hard disk, RAM, CPU, etc. Whereas in VPS, the access and capacity given to you for such systems are assigned to you by the hosting company, and to top that, the CPU is accessed by every account user on that server which limits your computing power.

2. Flexible usage

In terms of flexible usage, VPS is better than a dedicated server. The reason is that with VPS, you can ask your server anytime to scale up or down the capacity of the resources assigned to you and accordingly you make the payment. Whereas with a dedicated server, you are solely managing the whole website, so if you want to increase the resources, things may turn stressful for you as the scaling up leaves a significant impact on the website’s performance and speed. But for VPS, all this is managed by the hosting company and also the chances of an impact on site are very low.

3. Security issue

Maintaining security is the crucial and uttermost objective in computing. Any cyber-attack can severely harm your confidential data and resources, leaving you with nothing. With VPS, since the server is shared by many users, any cyber hack and attack into one user’s system allows the hackers to easily slither into your system and steal your data. On the contrary, a dedicated server allows you to have full control and access over the server single-handedly, therefore the chance of such a shared attack is negligible.

Conclusion

VPS and Dedicated Server are completely two different terms. If it comes to ease of accessibility and ensuring the security of your business data is more pertinent, then a dedicated server is a lot better option than VPS. But if your business is such that your resource need fluctuates, then we recommend VPS for you.
